Short Term Accommodation Designed for Comfort & Care

Let’s be fair dinkum; everyone needs a change of scenery occasionally. Whether you’re an NDIS participant looking to spread your wings and learn some new skills, or a dedicated carer who’s running on fumes and needs a proper break, STA accommodation is an absolute lifesaver.
At 3Sixty5 Care, we don’t just offer a room and a bed. We provide a vibrant, supportive environment in Melbourne and Melton where you can relax, socialise, and grow. The concept of our approach to short term accommodation NDIS is that respite should not be a stay at the clinic but feel like a holiday. In case you want a provider, who is professional and clinical enough, and who has the heart of a community, you have found us.

Understanding STA Accommodation: More Than Just a Stay

In the world of the NDIS, STA stands for Short Term Accommodation. While many people simply call it NDIS respite care, it’s actually a comprehensive support designed to assist both the participant and their support network.
Under the NDIS, STA funding generally covers your support, food, and activities in a temporary setting for up to 14 days. It’s a chance to step out of your usual routine and step into a space where your goals are priority. At 3Sixty5 Care, we ensure every stay in our temporary accommodation services is packed with value, safety, and a bit of a laugh.

Why Book Your NDIS Respite Care with 3Sixty5 Care?

We know there are plenty of providers across Melbourne, but we’ve spent years refining our service to ensure its top-notch. Here’s what sets our STA accommodation apart:
1. A True “Home” Feel
We have abandoned the hospital-grade feel. Our Melton, Yarrambat, Cobblebank properties are contemporary, fashionable and extremely comfortable. We want you to be made to feel as though you are living in a flat with one of your mates (a mate whose house is also clean and has a cook!).
2. Skill-Building That Sticks
We don’t just sit around watching telly. Our staff work with you on your NDIS goals. Want to learn how to whip up basic pasta? Want to practice using public transport to get into the city? We use this time to build your independence in a real-world setting.
3. Tailored Social Experiences
Isolation can be a real struggle. Our short-term accommodation NDIS stays are a fantastic way to meet new people. We facilitate group activities, from BBQ nights to local sporting events, ensuring you feel connected to the Melbourne community.
4. 24/7 Professional Peace of Mind
You might need high-intensity assistance, or simply in need of a little light assistance; our team is on-site 24/7. We do it all, medication administration, personal care with the utmost respect to the professional.

The Carer’s Perspective: The Power of Planned Respite

If you’re a family member or an informal carer, you’re doing a massive job. But even the best engines need a service every now and then. Planned respite booking is not about vanishing away and leaving your loved one alone; it is about being able to maintain that amazing support with the power to do so.
Taking a break allows you to:
  • Avoid Burnout: Take a Break is not an option.
  • Pay Attention to Other Relationships: Have quality time with other children, your partner or friends.
  • Rest Refreshed: When a carer is rested, he/she is more effective, patient, and happy.

How to Secure Your Planned Respite Booking

Navigating the booking process shouldn’t be a headache. We’ve streamlined our planned respite booking system to make it as easy as possible:
Step 1: Funding Check
Check out your NDIS plan. STA is usually funded under Core Supports – Assistance with Daily Life. If you have a flexible core budget, you can generally use it for STA even if it’s not specifically “line itemed.”
Step 2: The Initial Chat
Give us a buzz! We will discuss your requirements, your choice of dates, and what you are looking to take away with your stay. We are also going to discuss your support ratios (1:1, 1:2, etc.)
Step 3: Meet the Team
All participants are welcome to meet-and-greet. You need to feel that the staff and the house are familiar to you before you move into it.
Step 4: Pack Your Bags
After signing the service agreement, you are already. We will give you a check list of what not to leave behind to ensure that you bring your favourite pillow or your ipad.

Supporting Complex Needs in Melbourne

At 3Sixty5 Care, we don’t shy away from complexity. Our staff are trained to support participants with:
  • High Intensity Daily Personal Activities: Including PEG feeding and catheter care.
  • Behavioural Support Needs: We collaborate closely with your behaviour support plans in order to provide a safe and peaceful environment.
  • Physical Disabilities: There are the required physical adjustments in our homes that will not make mobility a problem.

Conclusion

At the end of the day, STA accommodation is about more than just a change of address. It’s about opportunity, the opportunity to grow, to rest, and to experience life in a new way.
